John Rezaiyan

is a Partner and Energy Technology Deployment and Innovation Lead of Asilea.

Mr. Rezaiyan has a wealth of solid US and international experience working as a consultant, advisor and manager at leading energy and infrastructure consulting and lenders engineering firms, research organization and technology management firms, such as 3E Consulting, K&M Engineering, Southern Research Institute and Princeton Energy Resource International, among others. Lately he has been involved in small hydro power and energy storage in the US.  He has worked in projects for a diversity of clients such as World Bank, Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Millennium Challenge Corporation, USAID, USTDA and Clean Air Task Force but also Utilities and Independent Power producer (IPPs). Mr. Rezaiyan participated in a wide range of innovative and technology edge-projects on renewables energy, advanced power generation, tri and co-generation, mini-grids, black-liquor energy and chemical recovery, coal and biomass-to-liquids, wastewater treatment, and carbon capture and recovery. Some relevant undertakings  include:  Due diligence review and evaluation of early development hydropower projects, identification and evaluation in Jamaica, Indonesia, Jordan and Turkey of Smart City project; establishing  a  Clean Energy Technology Center and attracting over $20 million of private and public funding to the center; guiding the design and safe operation of the first-of-the kind energy systems including waste-to-energy, bio-refining, gas to ethanol, gas cleaning, and high-pressure biomass-coal co-feed systems; fuel switching for a cogeneration plant in a U.S. metropolitan city; system design assessment for a unique boiler system for black liquor chemical and energy recovery at a pulp mill in South Africa.

Mr. Rezaiyan holds B.S. Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland and is Certified Project Management Professional.
